How do I report an error with EFILive?

Before reporting any problem that you may experience with EFILive, make sure you are using the latest version. To determine which version of EFILive you are using, select the menu option: Help->About.

The latest version of EFILive can be downloaded from here.

Please include the following information:

  1. An email address where you may be contacted.
  2. When reporting a problem with the Scan Tool software, please include the error report that was displayed by EFILive. If no error report was displayed, please manually generate a report (see next FAQ for instructions on how to generate an error report).
  3. When reporting a problem with reading or reflashing a PCM using the Tuning Tool software:

    • Please include the *.blx file that matches the failed read or reflash attempt. *.blx files can be found in the folder \My Documents\EFILive\V7\Bug reports\ and will be named YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS_upload.blx (for read attempts), or
    • YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS_download.blx (for reflash attempts) where YYMMDD_HHMMSS represents the date and time that the attempt was made.
  4. For the most recently connected vehicle:

    • Year, i.e. 2002
    • Model, i.e. Corvette
    • Engine, i.e. LS1
  5. The type of USB to serial converter (if one was in use).
  6. A brief description of the problem.
  7. The actions required to reproduce the problem.
  8. Any other information that you believe may be helpful.

EFILive is officially supported for use on the supported vehicles only. However, please send any issues that you may have with non-supported vehicles. There is no guarantee that we can resolve those issues, but we may be able to offer some assistance.

EFILive provides a moderated forum where you can post questions or comments for other EFILive users. The EFILive user community has many qualified and experienced scan tool users and PCM tuners. You can browse the forum without registering. If you want to post a question or comment then you must register. Registration is free.

I damaged my interface cable, where can I purchase a replacement?

EFILive no longer offers replacement FlashScan cables. We recommend customers ensure that their insurance company will cover the replacement cost of lost, stolen or damaged FlashScan interface cables.
